Oh my goodness, what a great month it has been reuniting with interns, volunteers, and students! September was our month to get everything all lined up for our programs to start in October. While it can seem stressful, God has blessed us with such an amazing group of people to work and dream alongside with. A big thanks to this year's interns for committing to this year of ministry. Interns are a huge reason why we continue to be able to open the doors to our returning students. From my own experience being an intern in the past, I know how difficult and vital the role is in the work we do.
So with that being said, here are my returning interns for this City Life year.

Alondra Guzman, one of my former students, will be returning as a third year intern. She will be attending Everett Community College in hopes of receiving her associate degree and discovering where her passion lies. Alondra has added so many of her skills, talents, and giftings to our ministry work. I can always count on her to think of creative ways to engage with our students while paying attention to the details of our work. I am thankful and honored to continue to grow with her as a mentor, director, and friend. Welcome back, Alondra!

Welcome back, Andrea Martinez! Andrea will be continuing her education at Everett Community College and plans to complete her associate degree this year. Andrea is leading our Student Leader program. She always does a great job gathering students, executing ideas, and following through with given tasks. Andrea goes above and beyond and out of her way to make things happen. I truly appreciate her. I also look forward to seeing her grow even more this year. Andrea is also a former student and I have served as her mentor since she was in 7th grade. Now, we work together to give back to her own community!

  • Pray for Juan Morales Peres who is still at Marine boot camp and will graduate in October - that God will give him strength, endurance, and peace.
  • Join us in praying over our students as they are getting back into the school grind and for help providing any resources they may need to be their best.
  • Pray for this City Life year to be full of many God moments and that our students would feel safe and secure returning indoors and meeting again.
  • Pray for the health and well being of myself and our leaders - that we would not have any COVID scares and will have peace of mind.

If you are interested in getting involved or supporting our work in Monroe, please email me! We are currently recruiting meal teams, sponsors for events, and prayer warriors to keep us in their thoughts.
