Grateful for City Life

November, you have been good to us. In City Life, we learned about grace and gratefulness, celebrated community by putting together our annual Friendsgiving, and wrote thankful cards for each other and our supporters. Friendsgiving was a hit! Our interns and student leader, Itzel, did such an amazing job creating a warm and inviting space that would make each student feel special. Our crew is very creative!

Our Student Leaders gathered for a delicious dinner hosted by Jannette Morales. Andrea led the group in a devotional on how God provides and how we can be thankful for what He provides. I love seeing Andrea grow in her confidence to lead students into scripture. I am grateful for Andrea.

I am also very grateful that I was able to reunite with some of the girls who I first started mentoring when I had just begun doing City Life. My heart was so full at the sight of a full table with the girls I treasure so dearly. God has blessed me with these girls and I continue to be in awe of what God is doing in their lives. I’m grateful for these reunions.

  • Pray for this City Life year to be full of many God moments and that our students would feel safe and secure returning indoors and meeting again.
  • Pray for the health and well being of myself and our leaders - that we would not have any COVID scares and will have peace of mind.
  • Pray for our community with the most recent racial attack on a student at Monroe High School. A few of our students are friends with that student who was racially attacked. It’s sad that this is the reality for our students of color. I personally felt racial tensions even when I was attending high school. I pray God would bring justice where it is needed, soften the hearts of those on our school board, and provide peace and safety for the family of the boy who was attacked.

If you are interested in getting involved or supporting us you can check out our website! We are recruiting meal teams, sponsors for our summer events, and prayer warriors to keep us in their thoughts.
