Stepping Out in Faith

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. - Psalm 37:23

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. - Proverbs 4:26

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. - Psalm 40:2

Stepping out in faith can be scary and sometimes we can't understand it, but God proves His love to us by blessing us when we least expect it. Our job as Christians is to trust God and have a good attitude. God will release what He has for us. Working in South Seattle is definitely challenging to say the least. Between fighting street violence, the overworked and underpaid parents, quick fixes from community groups without any moral standards, things are challenging and create fear and hopelessness.

By stepping out in faith, we are building bridges and creating a space for our youth to hear the Gospel while still managing to help with financial and spiritual needs. This summer our local church, Emerald City Bible Fellowship, made it known that our youth are important and a priority. They have offered jobs and internships and are willing to be a huge help by loving and caring for our students.

This summer, we wanted our youth to enjoy spending time with each other. We went on a few field trips and during those field trips, we created one-on-one spaces and times for them to share their hearts while also talking about the Gospel. Even though we were not able to go to camp this year, we came together with the other sites and created a camp experience. We had a phenomenal turn out! We had 30 or more young people for the first two days and on the last day, we had 70 people. We did a field day, swim day, and a skate day. Our three day "camp" was a super dope experience. We had our interns share their stories and Mike shared God's story each day.

Being faithful with the little things is important and I am thankful for the blessings God has given our ministry.

  • Pray for that our students would have direction and strength for the next school year.
  • Pray for our team to have more help and volunteers.
