The Lord is Our Helper

October feels so good! We are finally back to in person ministry meeting at Bellevue Neighborhood Church every Monday after school. While there has been a low attendance, I can say it has been so much fun already. I am eager to see more students come as we welcome November.

Our focus word this month was: FEARLESS. We spent time discussing what fear means and what it would look like for us to walk fearlessly in life. We read over Hebrew 13:6 that says, “So we can confidently say, the Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

We wrote on a ceramic plate all that we fear while listening to a song, Fearless by Jasmin Murray. It is a powerful song to say the least.

Bring on the unknown
Lead me and I'll go
Come set me free
God, I want to be
Fearless (I want to be)
Fearless (I want to be)
These mountains
These giants
Will fall at a single word
In Your name
In Your strength
I'm more than a conqueror

I wasn't given the spirit of fear
I was given the power of love
Everything I've been fighting against
I'm gonna lift it up

I wanna be fearless
No holding back
No backing down
Fearless
Because I believe You're with me now.

We walked outside and smashed our plates against the concreate as a symbol of shattering our fears. My prayer is that our students may turn to trusted adults and Jesus in moments of deep fear.

I feel so honored to have Angeles serving as an intern this year. I have witnessed her growth in all areas of her life. I know the Lord is working in her heart as she continues to press in and stay open. She was made for this and I believe she will bring change to youth culture in our neighborhood.

PRAY

  • Pray with me for my mental health. I am struggling with anxiety. Some days are harder than others.
  • Pray with me for the health and well being of our students and their families as the holidays approach and they gather in bigger groups.
  • Pray with me for our church partnerships with Anthem Church, Bellevue Neighborhood Church, Kalos Church, and Ember Church - that the relationships would continue to grow stronger and stay kingdom minded.
  • Pray with me for Angeles as she is learning to balance adulthood.

If you feel called to partner with us, we are in need of sponsors to help us meet our financial goal for Christmas hoodies.
